Kids 1st Pediatrics - Services

At Kids First Pediatrics, you see our doctor every visit. We recognize that establishing and building a strong relationship with you and your family is just as important as providing a child-friendly environment and excellent pediatric care. Our Doctor also makes parent and patient education a priority, helping to explain and recommend the types of full-service care that will benefit your children the most.

Many mothers and fathers alike, including first-time and still-expecting parents, can depend on the first-rate quality of care and attention that they receive from Kid’s 1st Pediatrics and our professional and accommodating staff.

Our Services

Our pediatric care covers a variety of age groups, from newborns to teenagers and young adults, to deliver a familiar service and experience for years to come.

Well-baby checkups should be completed at regular intervals to ensure that babies are growing and developing normally. Plus, these checkups can catch small problems, educate parents and serve as foundations for good health care as the baby grows into toddlerhood. The younger the baby is, the more frequently he will need well-baby visits because he is growing at a faster rate. Kid’s 1st Pediatrics walks alongside parents and babies through sickness and in times of health to help them get through any concerns that may arise.

Deciding whether or not to have your baby boy circumcised is a very personal choice. You may want to rely on the benefits or risks of the procedure to make your decision. However, the American Academy of Pediatrics states that it is not that easy. The AAP performed a thorough review of all literature and studies on circumcision in 2012 and concluded by stating that although the benefits still seemed greater than the risks, they could not unequivocally recommend circumcision for all babies. Instead, this procedure continues to rest more on parents’ personal, cultural and religious beliefs.

Regular vaccinations are an important part of a healthy childhood. Kid’s 1st Pediatrics follows current guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control as well as recommendations from the California Department of Public Health. She believes firmly in the benefits of these immunizations, or “baby shots” as they are sometimes called, to control diseases both for children as well as throughout the community.

Babies and toddlers often require clean bills of health on physicals to enter daycares or preschools. Later, they will need physicals to get into kindergarten and grade school. Typically, these physicals must prove that the child is healthy enough to participate in typical activities, is free of diseases that could be passed to other children and is up-to-date on immunizations. Even into the middle school, high school and college years, children and teenagers need physicals for school.
