Newborn Pediatric Care

Kids 1st Pediatrics Services - Pediatrics Care - Newborn

Bringing home your baby is an exciting time especially if you are a new mom or dad. However, whether this is your first or your fifth new baby, you are bound to have questions and concerns about your baby’s health. You may be wondering when your baby needs his shots, how quickly your baby should be developing and what you should do if your baby becomes ill. You need someone who has professional knowledge and experience to help you tread these new and often confusing waters.

Kid’s 1st Pediatrics has what it takes to help first-time and long-time parents decode exactly what their newborns need. We are up-to-date on all of the latest medical care and disease prevention techniques for newborns. We will take plenty of time at each appointment to ensure that your needs are heard. We also offers meet-and-greet sessions if you are trying to pick a pediatrician for your soon-to-be-born child.

It is important that your baby sees a pediatrician regularly as soon as he or she is born.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the following schedule for newborn well-baby visits.

  • First visit within one to three days of leaving the hospital or of birth
  • Second visit at two weeks old
  • Follow-up visits at 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 months of age
  • Yearly visits starting at the age of two

Of course, you should also schedule additional appointments if your baby needs additional care for sicknesses or other concerns.

Regular visits help to set your mind at ease over your baby’s health and also help our pediatricians recognize any potential problems before they become larger concerns. You will have ample time at each appointment to ask any questions, to find out how to best to take care of your baby and to learn what appropriate newborn development is. Kid’s 1st Pediatrics can give you information about feeding your baby, about vaccinations and about recommended physical care. Plus, she can give you helpful tips and tricks to make the daily care of your baby much easier.
