Dr. Chuong Dang is a distinguished attending physician at Kaiser Permanente, Fontana Medical Center, specializing in Pediatric Palliative Medicine, Pediatric Chronic Pain, and General Pediatrics since July 2017. He is board certified in General Pediatrics and has a robust academic background, including an Honor Bachelor Degree in General Biology and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Dang furthered his expertise with a Pediatric Internship and Residency at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Oakland, followed by a Pediatric Palliative Care Fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles.

Dr. Dang’s dedication to public health is demonstrated through his Master’s in Public Health from San Diego State University, where he focused on Health Promotion and Behavioral Health. His public health experience spans from conducting community health need assessments for the City of Berkeley to establishing a walk-in STD screening clinic at San Diego State University.

Internationally, Dr. Dang has made significant contributions to Pediatric Palliative Care in Vietnam, serving as a visiting faculty member at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City and as an advisory committee member for the Pediatric Palliative Care initiative at The City Children’s Hospital. His efforts have been instrumental in establishing the first Pediatric Palliative Care service in Vietnam.

In addition to his clinical and public health roles, Dr. Dang is an active researcher. At Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, he contributed to policy development for medical cannabis use, and his Master’s thesis at San Diego State University explored the effectiveness of Fear Appeals in health promotion. His research assistantship at Moores Cancer Center involved investigating the effects of Toll-like Receptor ligands on cancer cell lines.

Dr. Dang is also a dedicated educator, serving as a Pediatric Palliative Clinical Preceptor at UC Riverside School of Medicine and a Clinical Instructor at KP Bernard Tyson School of Medicine. His teaching extends internationally, providing bedside teaching and lectures in Pediatric Palliative Care in Vietnam.

An accomplished volunteer, Dr. Dang has engaged in numerous initiatives, from pediatric end-of-life care at Kaiser Medical Centers to health promotion campaigns in Mexico. His scholarly contributions include presentations on pediatric pain and palliative care at various professional meetings and forums.

Dr. Dang’s accolades include being ranked #1 in Patient Satisfaction in the Pediatric Department at KP Fontana Medical Center and receiving multiple scholarships and awards for his academic and community service excellence. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the International Children’s Palliative Care Network.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Dang enjoys playing table tennis, spending time at the beach with his family, tutoring his sister, and indulging in Vietnamese literature. He also has a passion for public radio and instrumental music.

Michelle is a Board Certified Physician’s Assistant with almost a decade of experience in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Maternity health. While providing healthcare for Kids 1st Pediatrics, she also also works concurrently with Dr. Ahmadinia’s medical offices. During her time as a provider, Michelle always works to provide quality care and attention to each patient.
